Model polaroids. Why model needs them?

What is polaroids?

Polaroids(or snaps) are natural snapshots intended to show an fashion model agency or a client what a model currently looks like before the makeup, hairstyling, postproduction. Polaroids are usually needed for agencies or scouts to see the natural look of the model.

Why polaroids are important?

Good Polaroids are very important and may be used to submit for jobs or to apply to agencies. Usually when agency request to submit model`s picture it should be polaroids. This is something every model needs in their portfolio if they intend to be serious in this business

When model needs Polaroids?

If model gets a new hairstyle, if she loose/gain weight, if you get taller, or any measurements change, these are all reasons why you would have new polaroids taken.

What is polaroid requirements and how them can be taken?

Your Polaroids do not need to be super professional, because it is not a test sooting. You can use any digital camera. But you still have  follow some simple steps:

• try to take polaroids in front of grey or white wall or choose the simple and plain background
• use natural and soft light (no camera flash light). Ideally, do it on a cloudy day where there’s no direct sunlight falling on you
• pictures must be colorful (no B&W, no toning)
• wear black high heels for full-body shoots
• wear SIMPLE black lingerie
• no make-up, hairstyle or editing. You must show your shape and skin.

You will be needed follow pictures:

• head shots(take one with your hair out and one with hair in the bun)
• 3/4 body turn head shoots (Take four ¾ shots with your hair in a bun and out)
• Two profile head-shots with your ears open.
• Full body shots (4 photos: front, back and both profiles) Wear black high heels and simple black underwear. Put your feet together and keep arms at your side
• Head shot with a smile
